EOTC-action day

On the 23 of march 2009 4 of the senior classes from summerland primary school went down to the field to have EOTC survival day there were six activities and six groups the activities were tent building, emergency shelter, emergency alarm, emergency stretcher, cooking and first aid my group (group 3) did first aid first that was about teaching us how to make slings and bandages and things like that. Tent building is making tents in groups of four. Emergency shelter is making a shelter that will protect you from the rain(buckets of water). Emergency alarm is bandaging your hurt crew, making a display that lasts 30 seconds only one of your crew can talk. Emergency stretcher is you are given some materials to make a stretcher on of the people carrying the stretcher is blinded. Cooking is you have tiny tin foil barbecue, sausages and damper (bread and water cooked to make bread). after they were done we got to eat them, yuuuuummmm! I hope you get to experience what I did that day!

EOTC big day adventure

For big day adventure on the 25th of March Room 8 and some other rooms went on a Big Day adventure. We got a list of tasks and had to finish them. We got split to groups each group has a parent helper to help and look after the group. Our first task was to catch a train to New Lynn, on the train we had a bunch of other tasks. At New Lynn we had to find a Summerland teacher to get our next list of tasks. We searched for ages! Then we found her Miss Cheeseman hiding behind a bunch of news papers! We asked for the next list of tasks we rushed to finish the task some were hard and we took quite long but we managed to finish them. Now we have to head back to the Henderson mall we ran to the bus station there was another group there so we waited with them. After a while the bus came we all got on we payed our fee. We waited to get to Henderson and get our next list of tasks. At Henderson mall we searched for the next teacher I wondered who the teacher was... Catch up on the latest update next week!

EOTC - Big Day Adventure

Hello there my name is michael and I am going to tell you about E.O.T.C.. E.O.T.C. stands for education outside the classroom, in my opinion it absolutely rocks. My favorite thing was the big day adventure mainly because we got to go ALL the way around West Auckland first of all we went to catch a train at 9.31 A.M... we missed it!! so we had to catch the 10.01 train AAAAHH oh well nobody else got it so were fine. we then we went to new lynn we had a list of questions which we answered on the train the last thing on the list was to find the teacher aaaaahhh!!! the teachers just had to be coming on the trip with s didn't they if having to be followed by an adult but teachers to! Oh well but the main annoying thing is they hide I mean come on. It took us an estimate of 12,64,235,562 years in all but we did eventually we got the sheet and we finished it before you could say wakatahimia I think that that was very very cool so we went and caught the first bus back to auckland, West field the first thing on the list was to have lunch we got 6 dollars each and still had spare we then went through the list like a rocket we went so fast that we had already finished while some people were still eating, the next place we went to was the Waitakere library and we got some rest time as we were allot faster than the teacher at getting to the library. But eventually she got here the teacher was Miss Cheeseman who as usual was fashionably late.

stay tuned for the next update
